On the surface, love and anarchy may seem like unrelated or even conflicting notions. Love is synonymous with care, compassion, and affection, while anarchy is generally accepted as an absence of authority, a state of disorder, or an ungovernable condition.
PATRICIA SWEETOW GALLERY was out in force with four gallery artists in the opening of The Threads We Follow with Lien Truong, Cynthia Alberto, John Paul Morabito & Amalia Galdona Broche at SECCA an affiliate of the North Carolina Museum of Art!
It’s our absolute pleasure to announce that the Museum of Fine Art Boston has acquired “Naga Padoha”, a ceramic sculpture from Linda Sormin for their permanent collection!
The works of Demetri Broxton, Kota Ezawa, and Sadie Barnette are grounded in, but transcend, subjugated lived realities. Meshing materials and meanings, Broxton is engaged in an ongoing investigation of the cultural flow of the Black Atlantic, tracing ancient symbols of power as they resurface in contemporary popular culture.
